Local home support across south-east Sheffield and Waverley

Clear support, with clear boundaries

Thoughtful help around personal routines—without taking away independence.

We can help prepare for washing and dressing, fetch or lay out items, offer ordinary encouragement and check afterwards where the person can decide and complete the activity themselves.

Unity Home Care personal routines in a Sheffield home

What support can include

Help shaped around familiar routines.

  • Prepare the bathroom and gather toiletries
  • Lay out clothes and fetch chosen items
  • Offer ordinary encouragement while preserving privacy
  • Check afterwards and report agreed concerns

Unity Home Care can provide practical support around a personal routine—for example, making sure the room is ready, towels and toiletries are to hand, clothes are laid out and the person has the time and reassurance to do what they can for themselves.

There is an important boundary. Hands-on physical assistance with washing, showering, dressing or toileting is regulated personal care when it is needed because of age, illness or disability. Direct prompting and supervision can also be regulated where a person cannot make the decision without it. Under our current managed service, we do not provide those regulated elements before CQC registration.

Common questions

Can Unity help with showering or dressing now?

We can help prepare the room and items, provide ordinary encouragement and check afterwards where the person is able to decide and carry out the activity themselves. We cannot currently provide hands-on assistance or the direct prompting and supervision that amounts to regulated personal care through our managed service.

How do we agree what support is suitable?

We begin with a conversation and assessment covering routines, preferences, risks and what the person wants to achieve. We then explain what is within our current scope before anything starts.

Can family members be involved?

Yes, with the person’s agreement. Family knowledge can be very helpful, while the individual’s voice, privacy and choices remain central.

Can the support change over time?

Yes. We can review the agreed support as circumstances change. If needs move outside our service scope, we will say so clearly and discuss a safer next step.

Every situation is different. We will assess the support requested and explain clearly whether it falls within Unity Home Care’s current service scope.
