Unity Home Care · Sheffield and Waverley
Familiar routines. Patient support. The person still comes first.
Dementia-aware companionship and practical help can make everyday life feel calmer for the person and more manageable for those close to them.
One part of a wider service
Support shaped around the person—not a diagnosis.
Unity Home Care supports people with a range of everyday needs. Where someone is living with dementia, we bring patience, consistency and an understanding of how familiar routines can offer reassurance.
We learn what the person enjoys, how they communicate, what may cause worry and what helps a day go well. The aim is to preserve choice, connection and independence wherever possible.
What support may include
Familiar help for ordinary days.
The exact mix is agreed with the person and, with their consent, those who know them well.
Company and engagement
Conversation, music, reminiscence, hobbies, gentle outings and a familiar face at agreed times.
Practical routines
Meal preparation, shopping, light household tasks and help keeping the day organised.
Family reassurance
Planned respite visits, clear communication and authorised access to agreed visit information.
- Patient prompts around agreed everyday routines
- Medication ordering, collection, stock checks and reminders where assessed and agreed
- Support to continue favourite activities and community connections
- Observation and appropriate reporting when something changes
Clear boundaries
Honest about what we can provide today.
Unity is not currently CQC registered. We can provide companionship, practical help and ordinary encouragement, but not hands-on or decision-dependent regulated personal care through our managed service. If needs fall outside our scope, we will say so and recommend speaking with an appropriate registered provider or professional.
Read our personal-routines guidanceCommon questions
Is dementia support all that Unity provides?
No. Dementia-aware support is one part of our wider companionship, practical, meal, respite and medication support.
Can family members help plan the visits?
Yes, with the person’s agreement. Insight into routines, interests, communication and life history can help visits feel more familiar.
Can Unity provide hands-on personal care?
Not through our current managed service before CQC registration. We explain the boundary clearly during assessment and will not promise support outside our scope.
Can support change as needs change?
Yes, we review the agreed plan. If a change requires regulated or clinical support, we will discuss a safer next step rather than continuing beyond our competence.
