Unity Home Care · Sheffield and Waverley
The standards behind every visit.
How we choose, prepare and support the people trusted to work in someone’s home.
The right people
Character matters as much as experience.
Home support is built on trust. We look for patience, reliability, sound judgement and genuine respect for other people’s choices.
Our recruitment process considers relevant experience, values and suitability for the responsibilities of the role. Before someone undertakes work, we complete the checks appropriate to that role, including identity and right-to-work checks, employment information, references and an Enhanced DBS check where required.
Prepared for the role
Training should translate into confident, respectful practice.
Induction
Team members are introduced to Unity’s expectations, safe working practices, confidentiality, record keeping, professional boundaries and the needs relevant to their role.
Competence
Training is not treated as complete simply because a course has been attended. People must understand what is expected and work within their competence.
Ongoing learning
Refreshers, supervision, feedback and additional learning help skills remain current as responsibilities, guidance and the needs of the people supported change.
Professional in someone’s home
Warmth and professionalism belong together.
- Arrive as agreed and communicate when circumstances change
- Wear the Unity uniform and identify themselves clearly
- Protect privacy, dignity and confidential information
- Follow the agreed support plan and keep clear records
- Recognise concerns and report or escalate them appropriately
- Maintain respectful professional boundaries
Families should know who to contact, how to share feedback and what happens when something needs attention. Concerns should be listened to and acted on—not made difficult to raise.
Secure, useful information
Clear records support dependable visits.
We use PASS by everyLIFE Technologies to manage care records, visit notes and rostering, supporting secure and GDPR-conscious information handling.
With the person’s consent and appropriate permissions, a client or authorised person of interest can use openPASS to see real-time visit information and care notes. Access is controlled, and technology supports rather than replaces direct communication.
What this means in practice
- Current support plans and visit information for the team
- Clear digital records of the support provided
- Rostering information to help organise visits
- Authorised family access where the person agrees
Clear about our current position
Honesty is part of professionalism.
Unity Home Care is not currently CQC registered. We can support preparation, ordinary encouragement and checks around personal routines where the person can decide and complete the activity themselves. We do not provide hands-on or decision-dependent regulated personal care through our current managed service, and we will update this website if registration is granted.
