Role Details
As a Personal Assistant, your role will involve supporting a person living with dementia to maintain a comfortable, safe, and fulfilling daily routine. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with tasks that ensure their well-being and quality of life. Duties will include food preparation, ensuring meals are healthy and tailored to the client’s needs and preferences. You will also be responsible for medication prompting, ensuring that the client takes their prescribed medication at the correct times. Light household duties, such as hoovering, cleaning surfaces, and changing bedding, will form part of your role to maintain a clean and pleasant living environment.You will also prepare drinks throughout the day and provide assistance with small chores that the client may find challenging.
Equally important is offering companionship, engaging the client in conversation and activities that they enjoy, helping to combat isolation and improve their overall well-being. Your role is not just about practical support but also about providing emotional support and a friendly, caring presence in their life.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, reliable, and dedicated to delivering exceptional care while respecting the client’s dignity and independence.
Current Vacancy is for 16.5 hours per week
** Applicants can choose to work mornings, evening, or a combination of both, but there is an expectation to include some weekend shifts.

Key Requirements and Skills
- - Experience in the care sector, preferably experience in supporting individuals with dementia.
- - Required Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- - No criminal convictions or Police cautions
- - Have a full clean UK driving licence and access to your own car.
- - You must have full rights to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role).
- - Be friendly, outgoing, positive and reliable.
- - You will be able to work independently, using your own initiative and work without company policy and procedures.
- - A genuine passion and dedication to providing excellent care and support.
- - Use computerised systems (mobile phone) to log visits all services provided.
Additional Information
- This is an initial fixed-term contract for 3 months, with a strong likelihood of extension based on performance and client needs.
- You will be required to submit a CV and details of at least two professional references.
